District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT)

.

The District Mineral Foundation (DMF) is a trust set up as a non profit body established under the Mines and Minerals Development Regulation Amendment Act, 2015 in India. In this regard, DMFT Ranchi was registered on 23/03/2016 and has been working for the developmental needs of people in the mining affected areas. DMFT Ranchi implements the government formulated PMKKKY schemes (Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana). Under PMKKKY, at least 60% of the DMF fund has been allocated to high priority areas such as drinking water supply and sanitation, health care, education, pollution control, environment preservation, women and child welfare, the welfare of the aged and disabled people, and skill development. The other 40% has to be utilized under other priority sectors such as physical infrastructure, irrigation, and energy and watershed development to enhance the quality of living in mining affected areas.

Mobile Nutrition Van

Cage Fishing

  • Two used mines have been developed into Cage Fish Farming sites in Khelari Block of Ranchi District. In 2020, one site was developed with 15 net cages made of floating frames, net materials and mooring system. 30 beneficiaries have been tagged in this site and in the last two years of operation, each beneficiary has managed to earn an income of 2-3 lakhs in each production cycle.
  • In 2022, another used mine has been developed into a Cage Fish Farming site by installing 70 floating frames and other required amenities. The major inputs required like fish seeds, floating fish feeds have been provided to the beneficiaries under DMFT through an agreement with a private supplier for a tenure of 3 years and post which the input costs will be borne by the 140 beneficiaries tagged to this site.
  • Total Fund Mobilized: Rs. 3.51 Crore

Stem Lab, Ranchi

  • Aim: To ensure high student engagement in learning and omit the adversity caused by teachers’ absenteeism in schools and to provide personal assistance to teachers by helping them deliver personalized learning and track each student’s progress.
  • Features: A tablet based learning system with all relevant content accessible without any internet connectivity. The students can easily browse their course materials on these tablets and make progress at their own pace. This system has helped to digitalize the reading materials and students can continue their learning even in the absence of their teachers.

Bee Keeping Unit

  • DMFT Ranchi has implemented a bee keeping scheme in Khelari Block of the district with the District Agriculture Officer
  • 50 beneficiaries have been provided with all the necessary equipment for bee keeping
  • The boxes have been placed in a common grove and are under the surveillance of the beneficiaries
  • A third party partner has been roped in for providing all the necessary trainings and market linkage to the beneficiaries
  • Total Fund Mobilize: Rs. 45 Lakhs

VR Lab, Ranchi

IMPACT: 4000 students are benefited from this project in 19 schools. Increase in student’s attention span in classroom. Improvement in teacher’s communication in classes.

Aim: To Enhance Quality education of govt. schools through technology and help teachers teach complex concepts to students through videos

Feature: It is Virtual Reality enabled learning system that helps the teachers effectively communicate and explain complex concepts to the students. The content curriculum are updated and customized as per the State Board’s syllabus. The VR Enabled learning system helps in increasing attention span of the students as well as developing their creative thinking capabilities

  • IMPACT: 11000 students are benefited from this project in 56 schools. There’s been an increase in students’ participation in the class. Empowerment of schools and teachers through this project
